Omaha is
very fortunate to have Steve Gerdes actively volunteering
hundreds of hours to junior tennis not only in Omaha, but
also for NE, the Missouri Valley and the entire country.
-
Steve
has had a leadership role for the USTA at all levels. In
addition to volunteer much of his time each year to running
the National 12 Open, the National 12 Zonals and the
Missouri Valley Super 1, he has also helped with many local
tournaments and the NE Competition Training Center. His
leadership and input with both junior tennis in NE and the
MV has had a great impact on the improvement of junior
tennis in this area of the country.

Steve
is also a member of the MOTA city management committee,
which helps determine the direction of tennis in Omaha, and
is Council to the Missouri Valley Tennis Association.

Steve is
also a senior editor for the USTA rule book, Friend of the
Court.
